Charly Lester

Charly Lester is an award-winning entrepreneur and marketeer. She co-founded of Lumen - the dating app for over 50s. Charly teaches regular Guardian Masterclasses on various areas of marketing and entrepreneurship. Charly is a huge advocate of female entrepreneurship and speaks on the subject regularly. She is the author of The Female Entrepreneur and Modern Marketing for Start-Ups. As CMO of Lumen, she created the ‘Get Your Mum Off Tinder!’ campaign and the viral sexy Santa Claus adverts. Three of her marketing campaigns in the brand's first 9 months have been debated on national TV, directly targeting ageism and a lack of over 50s representation in media and advertising. The dating app reached over 1.5 million members in its first year. Charly’s career in dating began when her dating blog went viral in 2013. After being head-hunted by both the Guardian and Time Out, Charly went on to create The Dating Awards - an international series of industry awards. In 2015 she featured as an expert advisor to Lord Sugar and guest judge in the final of The Apprentice. She is well recognised as one of the leading dating industry experts in the UK.

With over 20-years leading recruitment industry experience, Lucy founded C&C Search to redefine and elevate both the client and candidates’ recruitment experience. In April 2020, Lucy launched the C&C Academy, a global training platform specialising in offering CPD certified qualifications, as well as bespoke, in-house training and keynote speeches for a wide variety of businesses, including WarnerMedia, BlackRock, Sony and Impax Asset Management to name a few. Lucy offers bespoke inhouse training for organisations on a range of topics to help boost morale, help refocus teams and enhance professional development.     Yes the course is remote, with optional live webinars and is completed at the tempo set by the student

  • How are the course modules measured – do you have assignments to complete?

    Yes there is an assignment for every chapter, reviewed and passed by the course moderator

  • Are you given guidance notes, manuals and templates as part of the course?

    Yes workbooks, templates and videos

  • Will you have to complete a specific number of hours on each section for example?

    Each chapter takes around 2-3 hours on average to complete but varies from student to student

  • Will it be a classroom environment or VC in a 1:1 environment?

    It is remote learning plus live webinars and contact with the course tutor whenever needed by the student

  • What if I need some support during the course?

    Your course tutor is always on hand whenever needed by the student
